Backd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Backd waitlist and platform (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your personal information when you join our waitlist or use our Service.

When you join the Backd waitlist, we collect the following information:

—Name: Your first and last name, used to personalize communications.
—Email address: Used to send waitlist updates and platform announcements.
—Country: Used to understand our user base and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
—Role (optional): Whether you are an athlete, investor, or other participant. This field is optional.

We do not collect payment information, government identification, or sensitive personal data during the waitlist phase.

—Notifying you when the platform launches or when early access becomes available
—Sending platform announcements and material updates relevant to the waitlist

3. THIRD-PARTY PROCESSORS

To operate our Service, we share limited data with the following trusted third-party service providers. Each processes your data only as necessary to provide their services.

CLERK

Handles user authentication and account management. Clerk processes your email address and name when you create an account on the platform. Privacy policy available at clerk.com.

STRIPE

Processes payments when the platform launches. Stripe may collect billing information at that stage. No payment data is collected during the waitlist phase. Privacy policy available at stripe.com.

RESEND

Delivers transactional and notification emails. Resend receives your email address and name solely for the purpose of sending you communications from Backd. Privacy policy available at resend.com.

4. DATA RETENTION

We retain your waitlist data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove your information from our active systems within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations. Data held by third-party processors is subject to their respective retention policies.

5. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

—Access the personal data we hold about you
—Request correction of inaccurate data
—Request deletion of your data
—Withdraw consent to receive communications at any time by unsubscribing
